“Primarily what we’re worried about at least in our neighborhood are the power outages,” said John Dockrey who lives in Scituate
The town of Scituate alerting residents to the potential of wind damage and power outages. In an email message they said in part:
“Ahead of this front the winds will be gusty through this afternoon then strengthening overnight with the strongest winds anticipated after 11 pm to mid-morning.”
With warm temperatures, it’ll be all rain and it’s the wind that has Marshfield first responders and police concerned.
“Yeah we’re looking at wind gusts 60-65 tonight so we have the power companies on standby, we have all their contact info in case we need them and DPW will be ready to go in case we need to clear any trees,” said Sgt. Liam Rooney of the Marshfield Police.
National Grid sent texts to customers messages they are ready.
Eversource is ready too, telling Boston 25 News the utility is staging crews statewide for what’s expected to be a powerful storm.
“With this one, we are bringing in crews from out of state to make sure we have enough on hand to help with any of those restoration efforts that need to happen,” said Christopher McKinnon who is an Eversource Spokesperson.
As for Dockrey, if the power does go out he says he’ll be ready.
“Pretty much just getting the generator going and making sure that’s all set and making sure we have enough gasoline for that,” said Dockrey.
