One person seriously injured after car careens into Reading woods

READING, Mass. — A person was flown to a trauma center with serious injuries Thursday night after a serious car crash.

Crews responding to the 129 rotary just before 5 p.m. for a report of a vehicle into the woods found the operator still trapped in the car, according to police.

Firefighters from both Reading and Wakefield worked to extricate the victim.

The victim was eventually transported to a trauma center via medical helicopter. Their condition remains unknown at this time.

Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area while they investigate.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
