WORCESTER, Mass. — The man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death inside a crowded Worcester restaurant is seeking an insanity defense.
The attorney representing Carlos Asencio informed a judge on Tuesday the medical expert is seeking additional information on Asencio.
Family of the victim, Amanda Dabrowski of Webster, tells 25 Investigates they watched the hearing over Zoom. They family had anticipated they defense would go this route.
As 25 Investigates has documented Carlos Asencio is accused attacking Amanda, a woman he briefly dated, once before, then fleeing the country, sneaking back in and tracking her down at the restaurant in July, 2019. You can watch our award-winning continuing coverage of this case here
The case is due back in court on February 15th.
