CAMBRIDGE — Nearly three years ago on January 2, 2019, Paul Wilson, 60 years old, was brutally killed in Danehy Park not far from his Cambridge home.

No one has ever been arrested for his murder.

“He connected with everybody. He did not have an enemy in this world,” said his sister Elizabeth Dobbins.

She is glad that Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan is making a renewed call for the public’s help in this case.

“We’re hoping we catch them by putting this information out again,” said DA Ryan.

DA Ryan tells Boston 25 that case is unusual because Danehy Park -even in winter is a busy place - especially at 6:30 pm at night - the time Wilson was killed. And besides both the DA and his sister say Wilson was a big guy. His sister called him a gentle giant who stood 6 feet 6 inches tall.

“Not someone who you would think would be vulnerable to this kind of random attack and again in a place where you would have to expect someone would have seen or heard something was happening,” said DA Ryan.

The DA is hoping this ask for help gets someone to come forward.

“Perhaps it was someone visiting for the holidays and hasn’t been back until now,” said DA Ryan.

Some people who live close by tell Boston 25 they still avoid the park as much as possible.

“I only go thru in dark on my bike very quickly,” said Paula Maute from Cambridge.

And like the DA Wilson’s sister believes this was a random attack.

“Whoever killed my brother went out that night January 2nd, with bad intentions, somebody was going to get hurt,” said Dobbins.

She remains hopeful this request for help from the public will jog someone’s memory.

“I really think that the best thing that could happen would be that it be a thread that comes up that could be pulled toward justice for Paul,” said Dobbins.

Wilson’s family is also offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and indictment of a suspect. She’s hoping the request coupled with the reward may finally give police the break they need in this case
