PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - State police say a convicted sex offender has been arrested in Plymouth.
Police say Michael P. Cunningham, who was living in Plymouth as an unregistered high-risk sex offender, was arrested Friday. Charges include kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault and battery.
Authorities say the 31-year-old Cunningham's record includes a conviction for indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 in 2004. He's been on the run since an arrest warrant was issued after he allegedly kidnapped and attacked his ex-girlfriend in 2011.
Cunningham is expected to appear in Taunton District Court on Monday.
It was not known Sunday if he's represented by a lawyer.
Cunningham is a Level 3 sex offender, considered the most likely to re-offend.
