Man, woman indicted in deaths of 2 Needham students

NEEDHAM, Mass. — A man and woman have been indicted on charges stemming from the deaths of two Needham High School students hit by a car near their school, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

Robert Berry, a 65-year-old man from Needham, and Danis Antoise-Guiteau, a 52-year-old woman from Wellesley, were each charged in connection to the deaths.

Berry was indicted on charges of negligent motor vehicle homicide and two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Antoine-Guiteau was indicted for manslaughter and negligent motor vehicle homicide.

The crash, which happened in February, killed Talia Newfield, 16, and Adrienne Garrido, 17.

The pair were walking near school when they were hit.

In a statement the Newfield family said, "by bringing these charges today, and in their statements to us, the DA and the police have made it clear that Adrienne and Talia were doing everything right, and that the Commonwealth will seek justice for our daughters."
