PD: Man steals Brady jersey from Patriots Hall of Fame, gets busted in parking lot

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Foxborough Police intercepted items stolen from the Patriots Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Police were called to Patriot Place to help track down a suspect who allegedly stole memorabilia, including a game-worn Tom Brady jersey, from an exhibit inside the Patriots Hall of Fame.

The New England Patriots later told Boston 25 News Brady never actually wore this jersey in a game. The Patriots say the man took the jersey from a section of the Hall of Fame called the Lockerroom where fans are allowed to touch and try on jerseys, shoulder pads, etc. The suspect allegedly left the Lockerroom wearing the jersey, security saw him on surveillance and called police.

Police and security quickly found the suspect, a 33-year-old Providence man, in the plaza parking lot. Police say the man was wearing the stolen jersey under his jacket.

He was taken into custody and charged with larceny.

The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office identified the man as Zanini Cineus. He pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance. He's been issued a stay away order from Patriot Place. He has a bail warrant in the event he's re-arrested and is due back in court on Dec. 13 on a pretrial conference.
