BOSTON — The man who was seriously injured in an overnight shooting in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood has since died, Boston Police said.
Officers responding to a call around 1:14 a.m. for reports of shots fired near Chestnut and Hoffman streets found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died, Boston Police said in a statement.
The man's identity has not been released.
This is the third deadly shooting in Jamaica Plain this week.
On Monday, two people died and one person was injured after a violent shooting and stabbing inside a housing complex on Bickford Street.
Last week, a teenage girl was shot near the Jackson Square MBTA stop in Jamaica Plain.
Boston Police are actively investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to call homicide detectives at 617-343-4470 or calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to 27463.
