The North Carolina man arrested in connection with the 1986 murder of Tracy Gilpin has been indicted by a grand jury.
Michael Hand, 61, was arrested in March on charges that he kidnapped and murdered 15-year-old Gilpin.
On Tuesday, a grand jury returned indictments against Hand on one count of murder, kidnapping and assault with intent to rape a child.
Gilpin was reported missing on October 2, 1986. Her body was found weeks later in Myles Standish State Park in Plymouth. The medical examiner ruled her cause of death a massive skull fracture.
Detectives have been investigating the murder for more than 32 years.
Gilpin is the sister of Mass. State Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin.
