Long lines at supermarkets, gas stations

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – There's been a mad rush at supermarkets and gas stations before the blizzard hits.

Inside a Market Basket in Burlington, shelves were empty Thursday night. Shoppers stocked up on staples like milk and bread, but they had to stand in long lines before reaching the registers.

Gas stations were also busy. Drivers waited a long time to fill up their tanks and grab fuel for generators just in case the power goes out.

Thursday night's commute was also very slow, as it seemed like everyone was rushing to take care of last minute errands. It took many drivers at a shopping center in Burlington more than an hour to get out of the parking lot because of all the congestion.
