RUTLAND, Mass. — With wintry weather in the forecast for the next few days, authorities are reminding residents to clear any ice off the roof of your vehicle, as it could prevent a serious accident.
Rutland Police reported a close call on Sunday after ice flew off the top of a truck travelling on Route 68. Although the falling ice shattered the windshield of a passing vehicle, officials say the driver was very lucky they didn’t sustain any serious injuries.
The truck involved in the accident did not stop and was described as a white pickup, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
