WAKEFIELD, Mass. — A woman was shot in a Wakefield parking garage early Tuesday morning and she is expected to survive, according to the police department.
Chief Steven Skory said Tuesday afternoon the woman, in her 20s, was likely targeted just bfore 4 a.m. in a parking garage on Audubon Road. She was rushed to an area hospital.
“At this time, police do not believe that the incident was random and do not believe that the public is in danger,” Skory stated in a press release.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
