Woburn 17-year-old and Raynham man, 20, killed in dirt bike crash in Wareham, DA says

WAREHAM, Mass. — A Woburn teen and a 20-year-old man from Raynham were both killed in a crash involving a dirt bike and an SUV in Wareham on Saturday night, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said Sunday.

At approximately 10:52 p.m. Saturday, Wareham Police received two 911 calls reporting a crash between a dirt bike and SUV in the area of 121 Marion Road, Cruz said.

When emergency crews arrived, they found two male victims unresponsive in the roadway with serious injuries. Both victims were sent by ambulance to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where they were pronounced dead, Cruz said.

The victims were identified as Robert Stalker, 17, of Woburn, and Brady Petrucci, 20, of Raynham.

A preliminary investigation found that Stalker and Petrucci were riding on a Kawasaki dirt bike and were not wearing helmets when it crashed into a 2017 Buick Envision that was turning left onto Gibbs Road from Marion Road, Cruz said. There were no front or rear lights on the dirt bike.

The driver of the Buick stopped immediately, Cruz said.

Robert was a student at Northeast Metro Tech in Wakefield, school officials said in a statement on Sunday.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Robert, a beloved student at Northeast Metro Tech,” said Northeast Metro Tech Superintendent David DiBarri. “We express our most sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time.”

Northeast Metro Tech will have grief assistance and counseling resources available at the school throughout the week for those who have been affected, school officials said.

Woburn Public Schools is also arranging counseling services to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday at Woburn Memorial High School, as some of Robert’s family members attend the school, school officials said.

“This tragedy has affected all of us in Woburn and the surrounding communities,” said Woburn Public Schools Superintendent Matthew Crowley. “Our hearts are with the victims’ families, and all those impacted by this tragic event.”

An investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police assigned to Cruz’s office and Wareham Police.
