BOSTON — A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire due to another weather system bringing more snow, rain, and wind on Monday.

Sunday snow shifted to rain Monday morning, but the precipitation will transition to snow again as the day progresses and it will linger into the evening commute, making for messy driving conditions as accumulation totals climb.
In Massachusetts, parts of Worcester, Middlesex, Franklin, Hampshire, and Berkshire counties are under the warning from through Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches in Northern Worcester and Northwest Middlesex counties. Winds are also expected to gust as high as 35 mph.
Western Franklin, Eastern Franklin, and Western Hampshire counties could see 5 to 9 inches of snow with wind gusts as high as 40 mph.
Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches for a storm total of 6 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts is possible for Northern Berkshire County.
The storm will lead to slick driving conditions, impacting drivers during the Monday commutes.
“Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute,” the NWS said in a statement.
Central Middlesex, Southern Worcester, Western Essex, Western Hampden, Eastern Hampden, Eastern Hampshire, and Southern Berkshire counties are all under a winter weather advisory until 9 p.m. Monday.
Anywhere between an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected to fall in those areas with 35 mph wind gusts.
A coastal flood advisory is also in effect for Eastern Essex, Eastern Norfolk, Eastern Plymouth, Barnstable, and Suffolk counties from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.
“Up to one-half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways,” the NWS said.
In New Hampshire, a winter storm warning has been issued for Belknap, Cheshire, Eastern Hillsborough, Interior Rockingham, Merrimack, Southern Carroll, Northern Carroll, Southern Grafton, Strafford, Sullivan, and Western and Central Hillsborough counties from 7 p.m. Sunday through 10 p.m. Monday.
Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 7 inches for a storm total of up to 12 inches is expected. North to northwest winds will gust as high as 35 mph.
Northern Coos, Northern Grafton, Southern Coos, and Coastal Rockingham counties are all under a winter weather advisory through Monday evening.
Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches for a storm total of 3 to 8 inches is in on tap for those areas.
In a statement, the NWS reminded Granite Staters, “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can be obtained by going to newengland511.org.”
