DORCHESTER, Mass — A $33 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket sold in Massachusetts has been claimed.
The Skylark Group Trust, represented by David M. Lipshutz, claimed the winning ticket’s cash option, pocketing $17,441,861 before taxes.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Stop & Shop on George Hannum Street in Belchertown on Jan. 24.
The advertised jackpot was $31 million but the total grew to $33 million after actual sales were calculated.
A winning $31 million ticket sold in Massachusetts on Tuesday, Jan. 31, remains unclaimed.
It’s only the second time in Mega Millions history that one lottery has had two jackpot winners in a span of three drawings.
