METHUEN, Mass. — Residents and motorists in three Massachusetts communities are dealing with the impacts of water main breaks on Monday morning.
A major break in Methuen near Oakland Avenue and Railroad Street has left more than 100 homes without water, according to city officials.
A traffic detour is in place as crews work to repair the break. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
In Tewksbury, a water main break on Radcliffe Road is affecting water service to homes near North Street, Catamount Road, and Ames Hill Drive, according to the police department.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours and drivers are being told to seek alternate routes.
A third water main break in Lawrence prompted the closure of Allston Street between Howard and High streets, according to Lawrence police. Traffic can’t get through the area because crews are digging in the middle of the road.
