BOSTON — It was a party on E 8th Street after South Boston’s own Michael Callow was taken in the 5th round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks Friday afternoon.
Michael is an 18-year-old right wing who recently graduated from St. Sebastian’s School in Needham. The Ducks selected him with the 154th overall pick.
The Callow family packed into the L Street Tavern to watch the draft, eagerly waiting for Michael’s number to be called.
Michael was surrounded by his parents, Keith and Nancy Woods Callow, who are both lifelong Southie residents, and his brothers, Owen and Nolan.
It was a very proud day for the family and they celebrated with a little John Mellencamp.
