Watch Live: Massachusetts 9/11 memorial event

BOSTON — The state will commemorate the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks with tributes altered by the coronavirus, with the event streaming virtually this year.

The Massachusetts 9/11 Fund will host a three-part service beginning at 8:30 a.m. where the names of the 206 victims of 9/11 who were Massachusetts residents or had ties to the state will be read.

Public and elected officials are also scheduled to speak and the 2020 Madeline Amy Sweeney Award for Civilian Bravery will be presented in a ceremony that was pre-recorded.

“With the importance and significance of our annual Remembrance Services, we wanted to ensure that we maintained a dignified and meaningful remembrance of our loved ones which included family member participation,” the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund said. “Although we will be unable to gather in person, this virtual event will provide an opportunity for those living around the country, and around the world to attend.”

The entire tribute will be streamed live. You can watch here:
