Car seized in connection with Abington homicide case as search for suspects continue, DA says

ABINGTON, Mass. — Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says his office is making progress in its investigation into an Abington homicide, which included seizing a vehicle on Monday.

A blue, Hyundai Sonata was located and seized in Taunton as part of the investigation, according to authorities.

On December 27, police say 43-year-old Anthony Leverone was found unresponsive in his backyard at 563 Plymouth Street around 7:30 p.m. after a well-being check was called in earlier by his family.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators determined Leverone died of blunt-force trauma and high-impact injuries.

The DA’s office says they’ve conducted multiple interviews and executed several search warrants on cell phones as part of the investigation.

Although no suspect names or descriptions were provided, authorities say the people of interest involved were previously acquainted with the victim.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine a cause and manner of death for Leverone.

Anyone who has information that may help the investigation is urged to contact Massachusetts State Police at 508-894-2584.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
