‘Vegas baby!’: Dracut 10U flag football team headed to national tournament in Las Vegas

DRACUT, Mass — Fresh off its championship run at the New England Regionals, the Dracut 10 and Under flag football team has qualified for the national tournament in Las Vegas.

The Wreckers flew out on Wednesday morning and will play three games on Friday. The playoffs will begin Saturday.

Coaches Matt McCue and Michael Bornstein told Boston 25 the squad couldn’t be more excited for the trip.

“They’re living the dream right now,” said McCue =. “Ten-year-old kids going to Vegas, playing flag football, hanging out with their buddies for five days, it just doesn’t get any better.”

“Plus the kids get to go to the Pro Bowl and this is the first year ever that the NFL all-star game has flag football in it, so that will be a pretty cool experience for the kids to be involved in that as well,” said Bornstein. “Vegas baby!”
