WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Police and fire are investigating after a van crashed into a home in Wakefield on Thursday morning.
On Thursday, Nov. 30, around 7:27 a.m., Wakefield Police and Fire received reports of a van that had crashed into a home at 9 Kathleen Drive.
Upon arrival, crews observed a 2020 Chevy work van had struck the garage entrance on the right side of the home. The driver, the only occupant was trapped inside.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle with the help of Wakefield fire and transported to Mass General Hospital, police say.
There were no occupants inside the home, and the building inspector responded to the scene. There were no other injuries to report.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
