BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Bridgewater.
According to Bridgewater police, on Sunday, January 5 around 7:20 a.m. crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash near the area of 357 Pine St.
Upon arrival, first responders observed a silver Chevrolet Cruze with severe damage and debris blocking the roadway. Due to the nature of the crash, Pine Street was temporarily closed to traffic, police said.
The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger, who were both suffering from severe injuries.
The male driver was transported by a Bridgewater Fire ambulance to Boston Medical Center with injuries that are believed to be serious but non-life-threatening.
The female passenger is believed to have suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. She was transported by a Bridgewater Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and then later transferred to Boston Medical Center.
Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
