SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Two people have been hospitalized after falling through the ice of a pond in Shrewsbury.

According to Shrewsbury Fire, crews responded to Dean Park Pond after a dog walker called and said they saw two people fall through the ice.

Upon arrival, crews found two people who had self-extricated themselves out of the ice. According to officials, one male got another male out of the ice.

Both were taken to UMass Memorial and their condition is unknown at this time.

The incident is under investigation.
