WALTHAM, Mass. — Two 21-year-olds have been arrested on a slew of firearm charges following a traffic stop.

On Thursday, Waltham police and detectives conducted a traffic stop on Crescent Street near Woerd Ave in Waltham.

Inside the vehicle were two people: a 21-year-old Waltham resident and a 21-year-old Marlboro resident.

Authorities investigated the vehicle and discovered a loaded, high-capacity 17-round magazine 9MM semi-automatic handgun.

The 21-year-olds were charged with the following:

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Large Capacity Firearm without a License
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Assault & Battery on a Police Officer

They were also charged with an additional unnamed charge.

Authorities are investigating the ongoing matter.
