Trump rally in New Hampshire postponed due to Tropical Storm Fay’s local impacts

BOSTON — President Trump’s New Hampshire rally that had been set for Saturday has been postponed due to the impacts Tropical Storm Fay will have on the northeast region.

Citing a “big storm,” the president’s press secretary announced the rally in Portsmouth will be delayed by “a week or two.” Originally set to happen on July 11 at 8 p.m., it’s now unclear exactly when the rally will happen.

The rally, which was set to take place at the Portsmouth International Airport, weeks after an indoor rally held in Tulsa, Oklahoma drew a small crowd amid concerns over COVID-19 infection rates in the area.

Tropical Storm Fay continued to move up the mid-Atlantic coast on Friday morning, where the center of the storm is expected to make landfall later in the day along the coast of New Jersey.

Given the timing of the storm and how quickly downpours can start, a flash flood watch has been issued for the area. The storm will peak overnight with downpours, storms and wind gusts up to 30 mph.
