Travis Roy, a champion for people with paralysis, has died

BOSTON — Travis Roy, a former BU hockey player and champion for people living with paralysis, has died, Boston 25 has learned.

Roy died on Thursday from complications from paralysis. He was 45.

Roy was paralyzed in 1995 during his first shift as a BU hockey player and spent the rest of his life dedicated to raising funds to find a cure for paralysis.
