Travelers flying out of Boston’s Logan Airport urged to check flight status

BOSTON — Travelers flying out of Boston’s Logan Airport are being urged to check their flight status as Tropical Storm Nicole approaches the United States.

In a tweet, Logan Airport wrote, “Due to Tropical Storm Nicole, passengers are advised to check with their airline on the status of their flight before coming to the airport.”

Nicole made landfall in the Bahamas on Wednesday and the storm is on path to Florida, according to National Hurricane Center forecasters.

Residents along the east coast of Florida are being told to hunker down and prepare for “dangerous” conditions.

Tropical moisture will be swept up the east coast with conditions in New England turning wet and windy on Friday night.

Torrential rain and gusty winds are expected between Friday night and Saturday midday, but exact details will depend on the path of Nicole’s remnants.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
