BOSTON — The overall cost of attending a couple of Boston area colleges will soon rise above $80,000 for the first time.
The cost of Wellesley College for the next academic year is now set at $81,000, with a tuition of $61,584.
The Boston College Board of Trustees has set tuition at $62,950 as part of a 3.86 percent increase in its tuition, fees, room, and board bringing the annual cost of attendance to $80,296. Jack Dunn, a spokesman for BC, says more than 67 percent of the school’s undergrads receive financial aid and says the average need-based package is expected to top exceed $52,000 for the next academic year.
Amherst College already topped the $80,000 figure for this current academic year and says its total cost will range between $86,316-$88,766 for 2022-2023.
MIT comes in just below the $80,000 milestone, with an overall cost of $79,850 for the 2022-2023 academic year, with tuition set at $57,590
