Tips to save on streaming services

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

It’s getting more expensive to watch your favorite shows on streaming. But it doesn’t have to cost you more... If you know where and how to save.

The cost of an ad-free Netflix subscription just went up by $2.50 a month.

That’s 30 bucks a year. Not a lot. Unless, like most, you use more than one service.

Savings expert Clark Howard says as goes one service, so go the others.

“Every streaming service right now is pushing rates up,” Howard explains.

Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime also increased their prices last year and continued to add new users.

“That’s a green light to all the streaming services to keep raising prices until they hit that point where somebody says enough,” according to Howard.

If that’s you, Howard says consider treating your streaming subscription like cable.

Call and ask for a better deal and if you’re willing to risk it, tell them you want to cancel.

“What’s neat is when you go to disconnect. If you’re willing to take the chance, they may offer you a great deal to stay that you’re like, okay, that’s worth it.
