MILTON, Mass — Three teens were arrested early Saturday morning after a police chase starting in Avon ended in someone’s front yard in Milton.
A state police trooper tried to stop a 2012 Toyota RAV4 with no license plate or rear bumper traveling northbound on Route 24 in Avon, according to an MSP spokesperson. The suspect refused to stop, racing north on Route 24.
Another trooper positioned further up on Route 24 deployed a stop sticks, damaging the speeding car’s left side tires.
Despite the damaged tires, the vehicle continued to travel on North 24, eventually exiting onto Route 93 North. The RAV4 finally came to a stop on Trout Brook Avenue in Milton. The five occupants emptied out of the vehicle as troopers moved in.
A 16-year-old Brockton girl, a 17-year-old Dorchester boy and Hildo Pina-Vaz, an 18-year-old from Roxbury were arrested and taken into custody. Two of the occupants of the car were able to escape from police after a search from K9 teams.
The three arrested teens are facing motor vehicle charges and charges of malicious destruction of property and disturbing the peace.
