FOXBORO, Mass — Swifties across New England realized today wasn’t a fairy tale after thousands of Commuter Rail tickets to next week’s Taylor Swift shows at Gillette Stadium sold out in under two minutes Friday morning.
Over 3,200 additional tickets to Foxboro were released and the vast majority of them were snatched up in less than a quarter of the time it takes to listen to All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).
More than 2,000 tickets were sold in the first two minutes they hit the market; including every ticket out of Boston within 90 seconds, according to Keolis.
As of 1:00 p.m. there were only select tickets remaining for the Providence train.
At one point, the MBTA mTicket app had 20,000 requests per minute to purchase tickets, the company told Boston 25.
Keolis released its first batch of special event tickets last week, selling out those tickets within hours.
After previously stating they would not release more tickets, Keolis and the MBTA backtracked, opening the door for Thursday’s spontaneous flash sale.
“The concert trains will operate at maximum capacity,” Keolis told Boston 25 News. “The total number of tickets possible have been sold. We are pleased to be able to provide this service in partnership with Gillette and hope that everyone enjoys their concert experience.”
The special event trains will leave Foxborough station 30 minutes after the end of the concert. Regular Commuter Rail passes are not accepted on these trains.
Keolis is referring fans to its website for information about what services are offered for the concert series.
