FOXBORO, Mass. — Taylor Swift took the stage around 8 p.m. Friday night for her first of three shows at Gillette Stadium this weekend.
Swift fans dressed in honor of her different albums, each one with its unique theme for “Era.”
The extra traffic didn’t bother the many fans who were lucky enough to score tickets to the big show.
“It took us about 45 minutes to an hour, we ‘re only we’re staying in a hotel about 10 miles away, so it was pretty heavy,” said Claudia Stockli, who flew in from Virginia to see Taylor Swift.
Ali Horgan, who lives in Marshfield, parked at a family member’s house in Walpole and walked the rest of the way.
“It’s probably about a mile and a half, but my aunt drove us to the start of a path through the woods so that probably cut off a mile or so of it, and then we just walked the short distance here,” said Horgan.
Restaurants surrounding Gillette got in the Taylor spirit too.
Davio’s is one of many serving cocktails named after Taylor Swift, called “Lavender Haze.”
“It has edible glitter and a flower, a little lavender simple syrup,” said Theresa Savage, Davio’s manager.
It’s a weekend full of glitter and sparkles these Swifties of all ages will never forget.
“People are older, younger, it reaches everyone and her music is fantastic and everyone has something to connect to and that’s what I think makes her so special,” said Hayley Graham, who came from Toronto.
Whether you’re attending one of the other shows this weekend or not, be aware of the extra traffic in the Foxboro area both Saturday and Sunday for the next two shows.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
