BOSTON — A dog is dead and 7 people were forced from their homes as a fire broke out in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood on Tuesday night.

A 3rd alarm response was ordered to help extinguish the flames. Firefighters say nearby power lines made the knock down difficult.

There were no reports of any injuries, but 5 adults and 2 children were displaced. A dog also did not survive.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Damages are estimated by the Boston Fire Department to be about $600,000.
