Man attempts to stab MBTA bus driver over mask dispute

BOSTON, Mass. — The MBTA Transit Police Department is looking for a man they say lunged at a bus operator after he was asked to wear a face mask. The incident occurred on Friday, February 4th at approximately 8:50 p.m. outside of Boston Medical Center.

The bus driver asked the man in the picture above to put on a face mask before entering the bus. He ignored the driver’s request and continued talking on his cell phone, according to officials.

A short time later, the mask-less man approached the MBTA bus operator and told him to “shut the f--- up” or he would “stab” him. The man then took out a knife and lunged at the bus driver, according to Transit Police. Fortunately, no contact was made and the bus driver was uninjured.
