SUDBURY, Mass. — A Sudbury man has been arrested, accused of kidnapping and severely beating a woman he met on a dating app.
According to Sudbury Police, Peter Bozier, 28, also strangled the woman and threatened to kill her and her child if she told the authorities.
Bozier’s father, Jean Bozier, told Boston 25 News on Thursday that he and his wife saw the woman in the driveway around 6 a.m. on Monday and asked if she was okay.
“I asked her if she was okay. Right? She said yes,” explained Jean Bozier, who said he did not have a close relationship with his son. “We left and went to work. We don’t know anything after that.”
Jean Bozier said he would have called the police if he knew the woman was in trouble. He confirmed that the house on Boston Post Road was his and his wife’s.
“I’m ashamed. I regret that happened to her,” he said.
According to law enforcement, the injured woman was able to eventually leave the home and go to Lahey Hospital in Burlington for treatment.
It was there that medical staff reportedly contacted officers.
Sudbury Police said in a statement Thursday that Peter Bozier was arrested on Tuesday, and eventually became combative toward officers.
He is charged with the following crimes:
- Kidnapping
- Strangulation
- Assault and Battery
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (2 counts)
- Intimidation of a Witness
- Assault and Batter on a Police Officer (2 counts)
- Threats to Commit a Crime
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
Peter Bozier was transported to the Framingham District Court on Wednesday, where he was held pending a dangerous hearing that is scheduled for next week.
