LAKEVILLE, Mass. — Officials in Lakeville say they have determined what led to 80 Amazon packages being discovered in a wooded area near Bedford Street, Sunday.

Those packages were left by a “stressed” Amazon driver, according to Lakeville Police.

“On Monday, Dec. 23, an Amazon driver visited the Lakeville Police Department and reported that they left the packages on the side of the road at about 7 p.m. on Saturday because they were stressed,” Lakeville police said in a release, Monday.

The driver told police they plan to report the incident to Amazon management, officials say.

Boston 25 News previously reported that Lakeville police returned the packages to an Amazon distribution center in Middleboro, after finding them at 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Criminal charges are not being sought, according to police.
