South Shore businesswoman killed in crash involving a man wanted by police for drug trafficking

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police identified the South Shore woman who was killed in a deadly crash on Monday involving a Medford man who was wanted by police for an ongoing investigation

Lori Ann Medeiros, 54, of Middleborough was fatally struck in her car just moments after the Hector Bannister-Sanchez, 34, took off at a high rate of speed from an attempted stop by police for an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Bannister-Sanchez was held without bail Tuesday morning and faces motor vehicle homicide and manslaughter charges. He will be back in court on December 8th.

Medeiros was an active member and board member of the South Shore Women’s Business Network where they met monthly to support their communities by focusing on women’s related issues.

According to members of the group, Medeiros was a positive light who brought her “big smile to all networking events” including her real estate business.

“We are shocked and saddened by the news that SSWBN member Lori Medeiros passed away after a car accident,” said Lisa Dooley, SSWBN President. “She helped connect new members to our network, and we never had a better ambassador. She will be missed by all of us.”
