BOSTON — A new seasonal beer garden and performance space is set to open on the Boston Common Thursday, providing a fresh attraction for America’s oldest public park.
Just steps away from the Bolyston Green Line station, parkgoers will be able to have a pint at the new 420-seat Trillium Garden on the Common from May 4 to November 1.
Emerson College and the Trillium Brewing Co. partnered to craft the new stop for brews and tunes. Taqueria El Barrio will also sell food and drinks at the location.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu will join the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, Emerson College and Trillium Brewing for the grand opening Thursday night.
“This new performance venue and beer garden on Boston Common will activate the historic park, and our Downtown, with performances that represent all of our residents of Boston and a new, beautiful outdoor gathering space for all,” said Mayor Michelle Wu in a statement. “The City is proud to partner with Emerson College and two family-owned local businesses –Trillium Brewing and Taqueria El Barrio – to bring new joy and renewal to Downtown Boston.”
The Garden on the Common will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 9 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
