Single-car crash causes double fatality in Granville

GRANVILLE, Mass. — 21-year-old and 23-year-old males are dead as a result of a single-vehicle crash that happened on Old Westfield Road in Granville Saturday morning at approximately 7:20 a.m.

The Massachusetts State Police told Boston 25 News troopers from the State Police-Russell Barracks responded to the scene where they found the vehicle 30-feet into a woodline. Police added that the vehicle was there for some time.

After further investigation, troopers found both the driver, Justyn Trempe, 21, of Granville, and passenger, James Novak, 23, also of Granville, dead.

Police believe Trempe was traveling before 6 a.m. when the vehicle went off the roadway.

Granville Fire and EMS, as well as Granville Police, assisted with the crash scene. The crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, The Russell Barracks.
