Shuttle buses replaced trains along a portion of the MBTA’s Red Line after a maintenance vehicle derailed early Friday morning.
The MBTA first alerted riders that shuttle buses were in use between Quincy Center and JFK/UMass shortly after 5:00 a.m.
The shuttle buses were in use for around two hours before regular service resumed.
Commuters were told they could use the Commuter Rail at JFK/UMass, Quincy Center and Braintree for alternate service.
Boston 25 News is working to learn if anyone was injured when the equipment derailed.
