PEABODY, Mass. — Several people have been displaced after a Christmas morning fire in Peabody.

According to Peabody Fire, a call came in a little after 7 a.m. for reports of a fire at a single-family home on North End Street.

Upon arrival, crews determined that the fire had started from a pellet stove on the first floor.

Four residents and their three guests were all displaced.

A cat was lost but found safely a short time later, Peabody Fire says.

The electricity was shut down so the home will need to be winterized. The Red Cross was on the scene to assist those displaced.

There are no injuries to report and the fire is under investigation.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
