MANSFIELD, Mass. — Authorities shut down a busy intersection on Wednesday afternoon following a serious motorcycle collision.
Mansfield Police say a medical helicopter was called around 3 p.m. due to a serious crash involving a motorcycle on North Main Street and West Street.
Arriving crews found a 23-year-old male motorcycle rider in the roadway with life-threatening injuries.
Boston MedFlight landed near Mansfield High School and transported the man to Massachusetts General Hospital. He remains in critical condition.
Traffic was diverted from the intersection between West Street, Union Street, North Main Street, and Fulton Street.
The roadway reopened around 4:16 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
