A sailor on the USS Constitution was hospitalized after falling 20 feet Thursday evening.
The sailor was cleaning the ship around 6:00 p.m. when they fell 20 feet to the deck below, according to the USS Constitution Public Affairs Office.
The Boston Fire Department told Boston 25 that it was difficult to carry the injured sailor up because he was located in a tight area on level 4. A tech rescue response was called to package him in a stokes basket and lift him to a level in which they were able to carry him out of the ship.
The sailor sustained a minor head injury and was transferred to Mass General Hospital.
