PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — One man is dead and two women were injured following a three-car crash on Monday night.
According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers responding to a report of a smoking vehicle in the middle lane of I-95 southbound near mile marker 13 in Portsmouth around 6:41 p.m. found several cars had collided with one another.
Three people were transported to an area hospital. Of those three, one man succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities. His identity is not being released at this time.
Two women were treated for injuries that weren’t considered serious.
I-95 southbound remained closed at Exit 3B while the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time and it’s unclear if anyone will face charges.
