Report: Boston Celtics sign Jaylen Brown to richest contract in NBA history

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics have reportedly signed star forward Jaylen Brown to the richest contract in the history of the National Basketball Association.

Brown and the Celtics have agreed on a five-year supermax extension worth up to $304 million, ESPN Senior Writer Marc J. Spears reported.

Brown’s deal exceeds two-time MVP Nikola Jokic’s $276 million extension, ESPN reported.

The 26-year-old took a physical Monday to solidify the deal, his agent Jason Glushon told the news outlet.

He became eligible for a supermax deal after earning second-team All-NBA honors in 2022-2023.

During the 2022-23 season, Brown averaged a career-best 26.6 points and 49% percent shooting.

Brown is slated to earn $31.8 million in the final year of his previous deal.
