After finishing the 2022 season with the second-highest bullpen ERA in the American League, it’s clear the Red Sox are in the market for late-game pitching this winter.

After first agreeing to terms with reliever Chris Martin last week, Boston double-dipped on the pen Wednesday, reportedly agreeing to terms on a two-year, $32 million contract with Kenley Jansen, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

A three-time All-Star, Jansen led the National Leagues in saves last year with 41. The Jansen posted a 3.38 ERA last year with Atlanta, the second-highest of his career.

Jansen is no stranger to bright lights. The 35-year-old reliever helped anchor Dodgers bullpens that made it to the NLCS six different times during his 12 years in Los Angeles. Jansen earned his lone championship ring as part of the 2020 Dodgers.
