DANVERS, Mass. — Racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic graffiti was found in the bathroom of a Danvers middle school, the town’s superintendent announced Tuesday evening. That graffiti, which included two swastikas, was found in a student bathroom at Holten Richmond Middle School.
“This hate crime and type of hateful behavior has no place in our Danvers Schools or any place in our community. It will not be tolerated,” Danvers Superintendent Lisa Dana wrote Tuesday.
“The police and school administration continue their investigation and will be following our student handbook for appropriate student discipline and legal action, as well as counseling/therapeutic support for the individual(s) responsible.”
This discovery comes on the heels of allegations of racist, violent and homophobic behavior and text messages from the 2010-2020 Danvers High School hockey team.
