CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A manhole explosion caused a power failure in parts of Cambridge on Wednesday.
The explosion was reported in the area of Cambridge and Columbia streets, according to the Cambridge Fire Department.
Police officers directed motorists and pedestrians away from the area while Eversource crews worked at the scene.
Power was restored to the area around 11:30 a.m.
There were no reported injuries.
Update: Eversource has restored power to a majority of the residents impacted by the earlier power outage and is finalizing the restoration now. Traffic has also been reopened. #CambMA
