PLYMPTON, Mass. — Several days after the October nor’easter knocked out power to nearly 500,000 homes and businesses in Massachusetts, thousands on the South Shore are still waiting for the lights to come back on.
As of Saturday afternoon, MEMA says less than 5,000 are still in the dark. MEMA also tweeted out Saturday morning that its outage map is experiencing technical difficulties and numbers may be out of date.
It’s been a dark few days in Plympton. As of Friday, nearly the entire town was without power.
On Saturday morning, Eversource is reporting just 26% of customers are still in the dark. Eversource estimates all of its Massachusetts customers will have power back by 6 p.m. Saturday.
