SOMERSET, Mass. — A man and woman were found dead Saturday morning in a Somerset apartment in an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Amber Pereira, 30, and Joshua Pereira, 31, had recently separated, according to investigators.

A relative of the couple reportedly found the pair dead from gunshot wounds early Saturday morning, police said.

The district attorney’s office says Joshua arrived at the apartment before 8 a.m. Saturday morning and neighbors told police they heard “multiple gunshots.”

According to police, investigators found a gun under Joshua’s body.

The state medical examiner’s office will conduct autopsies to officially determine cause and manner of death.

Police say it appears no one else was involved in the shooting.
